DICKEY'S BARBECUE PIT EXPANDS IN COLORADO
Country's Largest Growing Barbecue Chain Continues Growth As O'Neill Joins Family

(LITTLETON, Colorado) Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue, the largest barbecue chain in the country continues to grow as Thomas P. O'Neill, Jr. signs on to open 2 new Dickey's Barbecue Pit locations.

"We moved into Colorado last year, opening a few corporate stores to see how they would do in a market so different from what we are used to. We have seen tremendous success and it turn have generated a lot of leads for new franchises out there,"

President of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. Roland Dickey, Jr. said. "We are all very pleased to welcome Thomas and his partners to the Dickey's family and hope to add to our family with other Owner/operators in Colorado."

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is well-known for their 8 hot pit-smoked barbecue meats, free ice cream and free big yellow cups.

O'Neill said the franchise's quality barbecue and down-home feel will be a great addition his community.

"When I found out that the Dickey's corporate office was using Colorado as their outer test market and was seeing really great results, I figured they must be doing something right," O'Neill said. "The people of Colorado enjoy great barbecue. I am confident this new business relationship will be mutually beneficial."

Since early 2009, Dickey's has opened almost 40 stores and 56 are currently in development across the country.

Many owner/operators are men and women who have never ran a business, but Dickey's business model is structured for success.

"We have so many new owner/operators who are investing with us. In this economy, we are glad people trust us for success and we certainly don't take that for granted. Their victory is our victory and we don't plan on going anywhere by up," Dickey said.

With the unemployment rate at a frightening high, Dickey's and their entrepreneurial partners are offering jobs to many and expanding when other businesses are shutting down.

"Our progress is surprising to a lot of folks, but it makes sense to us. People want to get out of the rat race," Dickey said. "In turn, these new stores are employing hundreds of people who otherwise would be on unemployment."

The first Dickey's Barbecue opened in 1941 in Dallas, TX. The original location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family. Dickey's only began franchising in 1994, now there are over 110 locations in 21 states. Even today, Dickey's still slow smokes all of their signature meats overnight in every restaurant.
